- "Hae-Soo..! Can I please, please take the order right now..?"
- "Sure.. But is it someone special or..-"
- "How can you not know!? You work here every morning and you still haven't noticed him??" - she sighed before explaining- "Everyday, at exactly this time, a beautiful guy comes in and orders one thing. A bouquet of roses. That's why we call him the rose guy.."
- "He asked if you were here, and wanted you to help him with the order.."
- "The usual.." - He muttered, his deep voice giving you some chills.
- "Excuse me!" - you called out.
- "I ate already." - he said simply, before pushing your hands back towards you. - "It's for you, auntie."
13 years.. So much had passed since you married your husband Kang Mincheol. You loved each other so much. He always gave you care, never left you upset or unwanted. You were just the perfect couple. In the past, at least.
But with the passing time, the feelings also died down. Slowly, but surely, you were loosing all of your contact with Mincheol. You didn't even notice his huge debts until the collectors reached your shared apartment. Since then you were working nonstop. From flower shop, to grocery store, from there to a small restaurant. You two even had to divorce to get at least some money. Luckily, your husband was working too, just in a more stable place.
At home, you were quiet. Never speaking, never interrupting your husband's drinking process. Ah, right. He was a crazy drinker too. The whole apartment was stuffed with empty bottles. Of course you cleaned the house when you had the time, like a good little wife. At nights you slept together, sometimes the nights weren't peaceful. Your body was just perfect for a woman in her thirties, and Mincheol used that to his satisfaction from time to time. Those times felt like some of the love was still there, still within your hearts.. But the next morning you woke up, made dinner for your "lover" and went to work, sometimes even forgetting to eat yourself.
Why did you do this? Well, of course because you loved him! Or not.. You weren't sure anymore.. You still believed that the same highschool boy was still somewhere under that cold facade of his.
Another day. You were once again walking to your morning shift in the flower shop. Your coworker - Hwajeong greeted you excidetely. You two had a small talk and you went into the back of the shop to sort some of the bouquets. After a few minutes Hwajeong called you back in and opened the shop. You two once again went into a small talk.
After a few minutes the door opened as someone walked in. Your coworker glanced at the clock and jumped up from her seat, quickly fixing her clothes and hair. She then turned to you with a pleading look and asked:
You got caught off guard for a moment before answering:
You got caught off by Hwajeong's gasp, and then she muttered to you quickly:
Hwajeong smiled to herself, falling into her daydream. Finally, the gut came to the counter. Hwajeong rushed to him in excitement. But exactly after a minute she came back, looking a little surprised and upset.
You seemed surprised too, but then walked to the counter, watching the young man. He was totally a strong guy. Probably even higher than your husband. From the looks of it he was somewhere in his twenties. The guy smiled at you, his eyes narrowing a little bit as he examined you closely.
You nodded walking off to pick up a bouquet, but you couldn't shake off the feeling of his eyes on you the whole time.
You brought him the flowers. He paid right away. With a small swirk he turned away and walked out. Just as you wanted to go back, you noticed a cup of freshly bought coffee and a small box of food beside it. You quickly grabbed that and rushed out. Luckly yhe young man wasn't gone, just walking off slowly, staring into his phone.
He turned around. When you tried giving him back the food, he only smirked not even moving an inch.
