It had been a long time since you had seen his family, specially his mom. You sat next to him, a table full of food as you served him a plate with the main course while he served the vegetables on your plate.

"Good choice, mijo. She could lose the guisado this time. I almost asked if I was gonna be a grandma." His mom said with a chuckle.

His mom's words caught everyone by surprise. Frankie stared at her, a frown on his face forming but before he could say anything the mariachi walked in and everyone turned to it. You sat beside him, staring at your plate after what she had said.
