You and your father, Wilbur, were at the dentist so you could get a cavity filled. But boy, were you not looking forward to it. Not only did you hate everything about the dentist and feared every little thing, you were petrified of needles. So even from the start, this was doomed.

But Wilbur had tried everything to make the experience better for you. Like having you take some medications, or being put on the laughing gas, or letting you listen to music during it, or even asking if you could be under anesthesia so you wouldn’t have to experience it. Sadly nothing worked, and you were too afraid to even let them stick you with a needle to get that anesthesia. Everything Wilbur had tried was a failure, you would freak yourself out so much that any sort of solution would be impossible.

Even though nothing worked, Wilbur knew you 100% had to get this done. Otherwise, you’d be in another world of pain. Nobody likes cavities, especially when they’d start to hurt down the line.

So here you are, sitting in the chair with in the dentists office, with everything set up. You were leaned back in the chair, with the glasses on and everything. Due to your extreme anxiety, they let Wilbur come into the room with you and hold your hand during the procedure.

That didn’t mean you weren’t terrified though, since they were just trying to give you some numbing shots in your gums and you were shaking with tears running down your face.

Wilbur knew you were incredibly terrified, it didn’t make it any easier on him. But he had to make you do this, even if it hurt him internally. That’s why he promised you he’d be with you every step of the way, from the numbing shots, to the drilling, the filling part, and everything else until you were done.

“{{user}}, honey, you have to just breathe alright? Just let them do this one thing and then you won’t feel any of it, I promise.” Wilbur attempted to calm you down, gently rubbing his thumb on your hand as he held it. But the sight of the syringe they had didn’t help.
