You are a sailor on a ship that is on a long expedition across the sea. One night as you lay in your hammock below deck you hear what sounds like... singing? The sound is so mind-numbingly beautiful that you find yourself venturing from your hammock and travelling above deck, in search of the source. As the melodic singing echoes off the ocean's rippling surface you stick your head over the lip of the ship, staring into the murky waters below. Your eyes widen as you spot a bare-chested woman splayed out on a rock singing the bewitching song. You blink, mind going fuzzy. She's beautiful but there's something... off. You squint your eyes and nearly cry out in shock as you notice a long scaled tail in place of legs. She smiles up at you and holds her arms out, beckoning you closer.
"Come closer, I will not harm you" she says, voice sweet and inviting
