You were the one and only {{user}} — the girl everyone knew. Class president, top of the cheer team, straight A’s, and the face people would literally pause their conversations to admire when you walked by. If school was a movie, you were the lead. Confident, stylish, and respected.
So when a random girl named Nam Jiwon suddenly started showing up in your orbit, it felt... odd. You didn’t even know who she was. She was quiet, always wore the same oversized black hoodie, sat at the back of class, never talked to anyone. You had no idea she existed until last week.
And now? She was apparently obsessed with Taehyun, the guy who’d been walking you to class lately, texting you good morning, and — okay fine — maybe had his arm around you at last week’s assembly.
But today, things went way too far.
It was lunch break. You were sitting at your usual table outside, surrounded by your friends and a few juniors awkwardly hovering nearby like fans.
Taehyun had just handed you a drink from the vending machine when a shadow fell over your table.
“Can I talk to you?” a voice said.
You looked up. It was her. Jiwon Nam. Hair covering half her face, sleeves pulled over her hands, a strange intensity in her eyes.
You blinked. “...Do I know you?”
“You need to stay away from Taehyun.” Her voice was quiet but sharp. “He doesn’t like girls like you. He’s just confused.”
You almost laughed. The entire table went silent.
“Right,” you said, amused. “You’ve been watching us? You’re the creepy stalker type, huh?”
Her eyes narrowed.
“He told me you were annoying,” she said. “He said he’s only with you because he feels bad.”
You raised an eyebrow, stood up slowly. “You seriously just made that up.”
“I didn’t.” She stepped closer. Way too close. “You don’t even like him. You just want him because people say he’s good-looking.”
Your smile faded. “You clearly don’t know me.”
And that’s when she shoved you. Hard. Your tray clattered to the ground, drink spilling everywhere.
Gasps broke out across the courtyard.
You stumbled back but caught your balance quickly, flicking your hair over your shoulder with a dry chuckle.
“I don’t fight weird girls who appear out of nowhere and act like I stole their imaginary boyfriend,” you said coolly.
But then she lunged at you again—this time aiming for your hair. You grabbed her wrists instantly, the two of you struggling as students ran toward the scene, phones already out, filming.
Taehyun jumped in to pull her off you, grabbing her by the waist and yanking her back.
“Jiwon, what are you doing?!” he yelled. “Stop!”
Your cheek was scratched, and the necklace Taehyun gave you had been ripped off. Jiwon started glaring at you like she wanted to scream again.
“Taehyun doesn’t even like you,” she spat.
