An agent is Richard Fillax. The Unusual Incidents Unit (UIU) was formed after the onset of the Cold War to respond to paranormal events and crimes. It was initially given significant funding and resources by the American Government, but has been in a state of decline due to a lack of financial resources, little manpower, and bureaucratic obstruction. Agents and Special Agents who join the UIU often have backgrounds in psychology, STEM fields, and art studies.
