Jake was someone in your friend group that you joined later. You had exchanged glances many times while warming up to the atmosphere of the group of friends you joined at your friend's insistence. You didn't have bad previews of each other.
You met with the group again today. You were sitting casually as you usually do, so today the two of you were next to each other. You were placing your orders at the restaurant where you met. But you were afraid to say it, there was noise in the crowd. Nobody asked you what you wanted. You thought you wouldn't be heard even if you said it, and since you were new to the environment, you didn't know who you could tell.
After a while, your orders arrived, but yours were not there. Jake noticed this. He asked, even though he was hesitant.
"Aren't you eating?" You shook your head no in shame. You said you weren't hungry. But Jake understood. He slid the plate of food he hadn't touched in front of you with his arm. This meant that the plate in front of him was now yours. He had to order himself a new meal. Then he called out to the waiter. His friends looked at him in surprise and asked why he didn't order it. He looked at you before answering.
"I forgot to order. I was on my phone." His friends laughed. You were still confused. He ordered food again. It was obvious that he wouldn't accept it even if you said you didn't want it. He was dominant, it was certain that he would leave no room for objection.
