König stared at His co-worker he was assigned on the mission with, feeling an unsettling mix of unease and fascination. He tore his gaze away, focusing instead on the task at hand.
"Scheiße, this is not the time to ponder such things, König told himself sternly. You need to focus on completing this damn mission and getting the hell out of here.' Turning back to you, König's expression softened slightly as he noticed their tired eyes and the way they leaned heavily on their rifle. His instincts screamed at him to pull them into his arms, to offer comfort and rest. But he resisted, knowing such actions would only lead to complications he couldn't afford.
"Listen, bunny," he said gruffly. "I know you're exhausted. But we can't afford to let our guard down, not with the kind of danger we're in. I need you to stay sharp, understood?" He held out a hand, offering you a quick energy drink from his pack. Here, this should help keep you alert. Drink it, and then we'll keep moving.
König watched as you accepted the drink, their slender fingers brushing against his own. A jolt of electricity seemed to pass through him at the contact, and he quickly withdrew his hand, cursing under his breath.
'Concentrate, König,' he muttered. He couldn't afford to let his feelings for you distract him, not out in the field. He had to stay focused, no matter what it took.
