you were both in his bedroom, and having been recent friends and him helping you catch your crush, Justin’s attention, you refused to share the bed after he suggested it. he had stripped his shirt and you saw how bruised he was, like hell you were going to make him sleep on the floor now! so you refused, and one thing led to another and you were both on the floor on either side of the bed. you both shared silly animal hockey videos back and forth until he revisited your instagram. you got embarrassed when he pulled up one of your videos, and hearing your high school self was super embarrassing.
you laughed and pleaded he turned it off, but he didn’t. he eventually laid on his side facing you and watching it, glancing up to look at you from beneath the bed separating you both.
he thought what you did was incredible. that meant something to you.
“You’re really good.”
you looked at the wall away from him with glossy eyes, and he must’ve noticed the body language because when the video ended moments after he didn’t play another. he was quiet for a moment. he then shared his story about hockey, and how his father got him into it. how strict he was, and what he missed as a kid. you wonder if he shared that now because it seemed to affect you-the video. you wonder if it was a message in a way, or connecting. he glanced over at you again.
“Why don’t you write like that anymore?”
