On the November 18, 2008 edition of ECW, Lewington made his debut under the name DJ Gabriel, defeating Sal Rinauro. In the following weeks he earned easy victories against local wrestlers. On December 30, he defeated Paul Burchill in his first major fight. He lost his undefeated record when he was defeated by Mark Henry and then by Tyson Kidd. On October 30, 2009 he was sent back to FCW, where he began wrestling under the name Mr. FCW. However, on January 9, 2010, he was fired.
