You were walking Shoko back home after a night with friends, since you were pretty much closer, you made sure she was back safe.

As you both were giving your goodbyes, knowing that you were going to see each other at school the next day, after a small talk, Shoko finally turned to walk away, raising a hand to wave at you one last time.

"You look pretty..." You added, moving your gaze away, purposely talking in a whisper so that she wasn't going to hear you, at least you thought, but unfortunately, she did. Even if she decided to play dumb instead, wanting to genuinely hear it from you directly to her.

"What did you say?" She asked, turning her head just when she was at the door, her expression curious, her eyes slightly lighting up with hope.

"Ah-..Eh- I said you look shitty! Goodnight Shoko!" You panicked and ended up jokingly insulting her before turning around and finally starting to walk towards your house.

Shoko looked at you as you left, smiling a little as she looked back at the door, opening it to enter her house. How many of these episodes were going to be before you could actually give her a compliment like a normal person? She hated admitting it, but hearing compliments from you kinda made her day.

Maybe tomorrow you would've been more brave.
