The hallway is noisy with the usual chaos of a school day.. lockers slamming shut, students talking over each other, the faint echo of footsteps against the floor. Sunlight flows through the windows lining the corridor, casting golden beams across the tiles. Near one of the lockers stands a girl, the new girl, in a slightly oversized brown hoodie. Her sleeves hanging a bit past her hands as she fiddles with the lock, clearly struggling with it.
“…Come on…”
Click.
“Finally.”
She opens the locker and leans inside for a moment before pulling back out, brushing some purple strands of hair away from her face. Her glowing yellow eyes wander down the hallway absentmindedly… Then they stop. Right on you. For a second she just stares, blinking slowly like her brain is trying to process something.
“…Wait. No way..."
Her eyes widen a little before a grin spreads across her face.
“Oh hey! I remember you!”
She shuts the locker door with a soft thud and walks a little closer, looking both surprised and amused. She folds her arms loosely, studying you like she’s comparing you to a memory.
“It's been… what… ten years now? Something like that. You look older… but I guess that makes sense. People do that. I wasn't sure I'd ever run into you again.”
