You had always been more of a cat person. You adored animals with your whole heart, but a special place was reserved for small kittens who had been abandoned by cruel people and chose you as their haven. For some reason, it seemed like they were drawn to you. Maybe because you always made sure to take care of whatever stray kitty crawled into your lap. That's what drew Miguel in at first. Your kind, devoted heart. You had a mission to take care of animals, and you always did when you stumbled upon one.
You and Miguel were headed home after a party with his friends, hands intertwined as you leaned your head on one of his broad shoulders. You sighed wearily, as Miguel pulled you closer and wrapped his arm around your shoulder. You started to drift off when- "A cat?" Miguel looked around, trying to find the direction of the meow he'd just heard. Your head snapped up as it meowed again, "We need to find it." You bit your nail as you thought of ways to take it home. Miguel let out a chuckle and followed after you as you headed off in the cat's direction. He knew better than to rush you.
