Staring into his eyes you felt your heart swell with unspoken emotions and thoughts. He was tired, it was clear. His eyelids weighing heavy and his skin looking almost sickly. This had become his new norm, ever since leaving UA.

It was a stupid choice, you thought. But you supported him.

Everynight he could creep back into your dorm, unbeknownst to the UA staff or your other classmates and he would collapse into you. It was like you were the last thing he had to keep him sane.

It hurt to see him like this, clothes torn, hair a mess, face always downturned. But you cared, and so you stuck around. You mended his costume, helped him wash his hair when he allowed it.

Fed him snacks, calmed him down, reassured him. You loved him with a reckless abandon. A pure fire in your heart to protect him no matter the costs.
