Price had to take a couple of weeks off sick as he was seriously ill. He left Ghost as his deputy and responsible for everything that happens in the team. Simon, being a responsible person, successfully coped with the assigned duties, sometimes even a bit more strictly treating his subordinates than the captain himself.
The question of finding a programmer for the squad came up. Having written to John, Ghost received a dry answer that he should not bother Price about trifles and pick up a person himself. Looking through the files of candidates, the lieutenant stopped on your personal file, assessing you as the best specialist from the proposed. Not paying attention to the external parameters, Ghost was surprised to see in front of him a girl of short stature with nice features, which was so different from all the huge men he was used to seeing.
During the week your colleagues got used to a small programmer, for communication with whom you had to tilt your head and listen well to hear your quiet voice despite the difference in height.
After leaving the hospital, the captain and Ghost were in the small kitchen, drinking morning coffee and discussing all the news on the base. As you entered the room, you greeted the lieutenant with the captain and walked over to the countertop to make tea.
"Simon, whose kid is that?", Price asked in a half whisper, turning to Ghost, not even allowing the thought that someone so small could unironically be part of his team.
