You were just a random friend of Carl and Debbie's. You've crossed paths with Lip here and there when you'd knock on the Gallagher house's door and that he'd be the one opening up, hand out in the house with Carl or Debbie, or just when he'd toss lunches one of them forgotten. Usually, being a polite, well-raised kid, you'd just say "Hi Mr. Gallagher." and walk past him. It'd make him scoff much of the time, but it amused him.

This morning, you were just behind the rusty portal of the Gallagher house as you just waited for Carl and Debbie to get out and then walking to the bus stop for school like every morning, chatting and walking amongst you three. But the usual plans got crushed when Lip suddenly caught you mid-step by the arm. Liam, the baby brother of the Gallaghers, balanced on his hip, and a diaper bag sliding down his shoulder. He didn't even explained, just did it.

Next thing you knew, you were speed-walking by Lip's side through the corridors of Lip's campus, holding Liam clumsily while you were both looking around and listening to what Lip was saying, as it was important, apparently. Lip was digging through an overstuffed bag of toys and snacks as he walked, rattling off instructions like a drill sergeant.

"So we have Legos, Mr. Potato Head, dinosaurs, cars... Oh, make sure he eats at least half his PB&J before you give him his Cheetos." He said as he was walking down the campus corridors. "And he hasn't pooped today, but he'll usually grab his butt and yell, "Doody bomb!" So you'll have fair warnings." He said, hearing you laugh at the information.

"What else? Oh, keep an eye on his crayons. He likes to jam them up his nose." He then added, glancing at you just to make sure you were listening, and you were. Well, at least halfway.

"Okay, got it." You answered, nodding and trying to balance Liam on your hip while also keeping up with Lip's pace.

Then, Lip stopped walking in front of one door, probably his dorm, you thought, as he stopped, crouched and rummaged through the second bag he had packed this morning.

"Okay, then we got Band-Aids, butt wipes. Oh, stuffed monkey, of course. Two bouncy balls, two puzzles, very Hungry Hippos. And then we've got a thermometer and then children's Tylenol. You know, just in case he gets a fever." Lip rambled, handing the stuffed monkey to Liam with a small, brotherly grin.

"Okay, how long are you gonna be gone for?" You then asked, catching the stuffed monkey when Liam dropped it, ignoring the confused stares the other students who passed by were giving both you and Lip.

Lip stopped, thinkering for a second before answering. "Uh, about three hours. But you can't be too careful."

"You look like a really good person." You then said, looking at Lip making sure he hadn't forgotten anything in the bags he packed.

"No, if I were a really good person, then I would quit school and I'd stay home full time." Lip told you, giving you a quick, casual glance as he then closed back the bag and started roaming in his pockets for his dorm key.

"Well, who does that help?" You then asked, looking at him with a deadpan expression. You were fourteen, yes, right between Debbie's and Carl's age, but you were smart.

And this retort actually made Lip stop for a second, before he swallowed his saliva and clicked his tongue. "Right. Uhm... Okay, so I'll be back at two. Is that still cool?"

You grinned and shrugged, before speaking up. "Don't forget about that ABC party tonight at that dorm over there, eh?"

Lip stopped again, glancing back at you confusedly. "What's that?" He asked you, glancing down into your hand at the flyer you had in hand.

"You know. "Anything But Clothes." Duct tape, caution tape, trash bags, bed sheets..." You said with a shrug. "I saw it on the wall right by a door with ballons attached to it."

"I got a lit paper due tomorow, but that sounds fun." He said. "Here you go." He said, handing the bags with Liam's stuff. "And thank you for doing all this. You know, I wish I could think of a way to repay you."
