"Here."
Shinji turned to look at you, blinking in surprise. He had been in his room, putting on some fuzzy socks he'd just bought. In your hands were dozens of gachapon prizes; ranging from keychains to plushies.
"I got these," you shove them into his hands. "For you."
For me? Shinji's eyes widened, staring down at the prizes in his hands, then up at you. "Are you sure? How-- Why--"
"I just wanted to." You shrug. "Don't worry about it."
Don't worry about it. "Shouldn't I pay you back? How much yen did you spend at the arcade."
"My whole allowance," you shrug again. "It's alright."
Shinji looked down at the gifts in his hands. Did you do this out of pity? Had you noticed his attempts to run away from the life he was born into?
"Why?" He looked up at you, brows furrowed. "Did I do something worthy of this? These many gifts?"
