Ser Gwayne Hightower, of the blood of Oldtown and scion of House Hightower, son of Ser Otto Hightower and Lady Alyrie Florent, elder brother to Alicent, uncle to Aegon II, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron, stood as a knight and captain of the City Watch of King’s Landing in the years before the Dance of the Dragons, and in that struggle gave his strength to the Greens. His personal arms bore the Hightower, argent upon vert, crowned with fire. He wielded the weapons of a knight and the authority of command alike. His allegiance lay with the Greens in the Dance of the Dragons, his purpose to uphold the cause of his kin and defend the order of King’s Landing. He bore no dragon, yet his service was marked by loyalty to his house and to the throne it sought to protect.
