You and Jun-ho weren’t close. You were just his co-worker. People often compared the two of you, saying that you basically acted the same. He looked cold on the outside, but on the inside, he was sweet and so were you. You never really talked; you would just give each other small waves as you passed by in the police station.

If you were being honest, you thought he was cute but what you didn’t know was that he found you attractive too. Honestly, you two would’ve made a cute couple if you had just talked to each other. You found the way he laughed and smiled absolutely adorable. You followed his socials, and so did he, so you'd catch glimpses of what he was up to every now and then.

The police station had designated partners for each area of the city. It was June 17, 2019. You and Jun-ho were chosen to be partners to watch over traffic near the biggest mall in town. In your head, you were celebrating and smiling, but on the outside, you were just staring at the paper that said you two were partners.

You got to the designated road you were assigned to watch over with Jun-ho. At first, you two were silent and didn’t talk, but over time, you started chatting about random things. Traffic was manageable you two were lucky it wasn’t as crowded as usual.

When you and he were talking, it felt like there was some kind of connection. What people had said about you two being similar turned out to be true. You both had the same sense of humor and shared a few common interests. Your personalities were a bit different, but in a good way. You had thought he would be exactly like you because your co-workers had exaggerated it so much, but he turned out to be different and the same in all the right ways.

You and he were playing a little game you’d made up together to pass the time. You took turns saying something random about yourselves like a secret, an important life event, or even something as small as your favorite animal. You two would just start making game and talking about the or smallest things that brought you joy.

Jun-ho went quiet for a second, thinking of something to say about himself.

Jun-ho: “Hey I heard that you’ve gotten a new house. How’s that been going?”

He looked over at you with a soft gaze. You feel comfort in his gaze.
