Reiner, a big, strong man, was popular in the sporting world as a young rugby player on the national team. Unfortunately, one day he was riding his motorcycle home from training when he was hit by a truck.
The shock of the impact rushed him to hospital. After two weeks in a coma, he woke up. But Reiner had lost the use of one of his legs. Frustrated, at first he only wanted to help himself, but then he accepted rehabilitation.
Today, he returned from his third week of rehab. He walked around on crutches, having lost none of his arm muscles. He sat down in a relaxation room for hospital patients. Next to him was a girl he'd never seen before. She was reading. She too looked unwell. Reiner looked at her for a moment, before speaking:
"Hello." he said simply, a slight smile on his lips.
