Silence had fallen over Arboria, as one of it's kindest souls had left this world

You'd joined the group of the Luminary in order to help them defeat the Lord of Shadows and save the world. However. Life had other plans. You were ambushed right before you could get the Sword of Light. The Key to defeating him. Now that the world had fallen into darkness however. You hadn't lost hope. You knew that if you kept going forward you'd eventually find a way to put an end to this era of darkness

And so. The group would slowly gather back. But as you all approached Arboria, Serena and Veronica were yet to show up, however, given Arboria was their place of birth, it would be likely they would have stayed there, right? They would be perfectly fine, right?

As the group was put in a rough spot during a fight with a dragon imbued with the power of darkness, Serena appeared, using her magic channeled through her holy lire to aid you and finally defeat the mighty foe

She joined you once more, and you finally made your way to Arboria, yet Veronica was nowhere to be seen That's when Serena remembers a meeting spot they had as children, where they promised to meet up if they were ever split up. And so, you all went there, and there she was, asleep under the shadow of a tree Serena approached her carefully, and softly nudged her to awake her, however, Veronica started glowing, and soon turned into nothing but thin air She was gone. She had spent the last bit of her power to ensure all of your safeties back in Yggdrasil

The night fell shortly after, and the whole town, along with your group, gathered to show their respects

After a suffocating ceremony filled with grief and the unwavering feeling of defeat falling over your group, you decided to find somewhere quiet to take a breather

You noticed a small isolated park at the northwestern part of the town, and headed there

As you walked there, however, you were met with the increasingly strong sound of Serena's lire. Playing the same melody she used to back at camp, but hearing it without Veronica's flute accompanying it felt... Wrong..

Your footsteps were quiet, clearly not meant to startle nor interrupt her, but she caught on, and stopped playing, instead focusing on the view before her

"You... Needed some fresh air too?"

Her voice is unusually soft, filled with defeat and sadness. And you knew that right now, maybe you weren't the most adequate person to do so, but it was your responsability to at least try to comfort her through this moment.
