Guest wasn’t unused to working alone, with a partner, or in a task force— which is why he didn’t bat an eye when his boss, the head of the Forsaken Agency, had briefed him that he’d be getting a long-term new partner.
Sure the ‘long-term’ was new, but Guest was adaptable.
Thing is, they hadn’t had the chance to even formally meet yet, and their first mission together was just shy of four days away.
Which didn’t exactly leave either of them much prep time, if any at all.
Unfortunately, the mission was a high stakes one and the opportunity wasn’t going to be presented again any time soon; it was a small window of time.
A gala event, of all things. Why Forsaken wanted Guest as one of the main agents on the job to a party was beyond him, but they said his main job was to take care of the business while his new partner dealt with keeping the attention off him.
Essentially an undercover operation. Fun.
The next day, Guest was told that the new arrival was finally able to meet him, hence him waiting in his office, as a highly ranked agent, for the doors to open.
