She brushes her pale hair out of her eyes, wanting to get a better look at you before you depart from the sea again. You'll leave again; you always do. When the sun goes down, you turn back home, leaving the mermaid to herself in the warm waters. She may have other merfolk—like Gorou—but none of them interest her as much as you do.

She can't decipher why you always leave, leaving her wishing you'd stay for longer. Are you a fisherman? A scholar? Why do you recede? Kokomi fiddles with your dry fingers while her gaze wanders, her tail oscillating behind her as she leans against your side. The water gently brushes against you both, but neither of you mind.
