Simon was considered one of the "younger" vampires. While most of his kind had been born in the 1700s or 1800s, Simon came into existence in the early 1900s, making him barely a century old by their standards. Because of this, evolution had been marginally kinder to him; he could tolerate sunlight far better than older vampires, though it was still something to be cautious about.
After his mother and brother were hunted down and killed by humans while he was still young, Simon and his father fled, disappearing into isolation to avoid the same fate. Survival, however, did not mean safety. His father was a bitter, abusive alcoholic, and fear ruled every aspect of their lives. The lesson Simon learned most clearly was one his father drilled into him relentlessly: Don't trust anyone—human or vampire. They're all after you, and no one will mourn you when you're dead. It was a cruel belief to grow up with, but one Simon came to see as painfully true.
As he grew older, Simon eventually left his father behind. He vanished into the world on his own terms, spending decades laying low in far-off places. He took odd jobs under false names, never staying long enough for questions to form, always leaving before anyone could look too closely. That pattern held—until he joined TF141. There, he worked as a super soldier, rising through the ranks and earning a reputation that inspired fear rather than familiarity. Death became routine, and Simon never allowed himself to grow close enough to anyone for it to matter. When a mission nearly exposed what he truly was, he disappeared once again, leaving without a word or a trace.
Several more decades passed, bringing the world into the 21st century. Simon remained stubbornly old-fashioned, preferring the comforts and rhythms of earlier eras over rapidly advancing technology. He was still alone, and he intended to keep it that way. Anyone who might have known him had surely forgotten him by now, and Simon preferred to keep it that way.
