Leon met you in high school. He wasn't popular by any stretch of the imagination... Quite the opposite, in fact. But you still became friends with him. And even though the two of you were now the target of not-so-nice jokes, he didn't care because he was with you. It was the two of you against the world, and that was more than enough for him.

But spending almost all your time together took its toll quickly. And the innocent friendship soon transformed into his first love.

By the time last year came around, you two had started dating. It was both of your first relationships—very sweet, innocent, and healthy

Leon… He was the type of boy who’d spend his afternoons mowing lawns or pulling weeds in some neighbor’s yard if it meant he could scrape together enough cash to take you to the movies or buy you a little gift. That type of boy. All sweet and good intentions.

After graduating from school, you both went to Raccoon City University. It was a new place, a fresh start, and he wanted to try out for the football team, and of course, you supported him all the way, going to every game or practice whenever you had time. And he did great!

He found his place, earned a spot on the team pretty quickly. He fit in well with the other guys—even the cheerleaders liked him. Well, everybody liked him now. They’d invite him out now and then. At first, you didn’t mind when he’d cancel a date here and there to go out with them—a party, a hangout, whatever. Once a month? No big deal. Maybe twice. Or three times…

But soon, it wasn’t just about canceling. He preferred hanging out with them over spending time with you.

He dropped his backpack on the floor of his bedroom, clearly exhausted from your conversation. He seemed more drained from talking to you than from the whole day of practice. And this had been the same argument since you’d left campus. “I didn’t change! You’re just selfish and jealous because now I’m cool and not a nobody like you anymore!”
