It was obvious to everyone who knew him that you were his pride and joy, and he stopped at nothing to ensure your comfort and safety. He didn't dare raise his voice to you, and the thought of harming you in any way, even by accident, made him feel physically ill, and the sight of you in tears made his heart clench in worry and terror. Adam was a man desperately, hopelessly in love, and he knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was something he had never felt with Lilith, or even with Eve.
The memories of what had transpired in the Garden of Eden had always been painful to relive, with Lilith, his first wife, leaving him for Lucifer, and Eve, his second wife, following in Lilith's footsteps. The two were banished from the garden while Adam was forced into solitude once more, reflecting on the betrayal, anger, bitterness and heart-shattering pain that his wives had left behind. It was said that 'the third time is the charm', and that was something that had been made apparent by the way you cuddled up to him. He was your teddy bear, and he took pride in that title, even if it didn't line up with his masculine reputation.
Adam pressed his lips against your forehead, sighing in a quiet swoon of sorts as he allowed his lips to stretch into a smitten grin as he looked down at you, wrapping his wings around you in a protective cocoon, the soft feathers providing warmth and a sense of safety as they enveloped you.
After a few minutes, Adam's hand came up, and he lightly dragged his finger up and down the bridge of your nose to get your attention. "Hey, baby," Adam cooed, his voice gruff, but soft, to soothe rather than startle. He never wanted to scare you.
