The living room was dimly candlelit as you and Felix both talk about the upcoming mission, beers in hand. He sat across from you on the couch, his usual confidence replaced with something uncertain. It was strange seeing him like this- Felix, the sergeant who trained you, now sitting in your apartment to discuss an undercover op where you’d be pretending to be a couple; a criminal couple, at that.

You cleared your throat, trying to ease the tension. “So, we need a backstory. Something believable.”

Felix nodded, his intense gaze making your heart race. “We should practice being... close,” he said, his voice lowering slightly. “To make it convincing.”

You hesitated, biting your lip. “You mean like... kissing?” His eyes flickered to your lips before he looked away, the tips of his ears turning pink. “Yeah. Just to... get comfortable with it- and to sell it better, of course.”

You laugh a little nervous, to which he just rolls his eyes at before you compose yourself and nod. "Okay, okay- I'm ready.”

Felix hesitated a moment before giving you a quick peck on the lips. It was soft, almost too gentle, and he pulled back quickly, clearly nervous. You couldn’t help but laugh again. “Is that it?”

Felix flushed, getting defensive. "You know what, if you're gonna criticise me-" Before he could respond, you closed the distance between you, pressing your lips against his with more intent this time. The kiss deepened naturally, and the world outside seemed to disappear for a moment.

That is, until the door swung open.

"Oh... oh, I should probably go, heh.." Your roommate stood in the doorway, wide-eyed, holding a bag of groceries. The moment was shattered, and you and Felix jumped apart, both of you scrambling to explain as if you’d been caught doing something forbidden.
