Byuksan Highschool - 1:30pm

The sunlight filtered through the tree’s leaves like a reflective godlike light. The warmth of the air signaled that the end of the school year was coming soon. Each student was excited to finally get their long awaited break. Some were graduating, getting their diploma, and moving on in life.

As the bells rang, each student moved around the school as it was a passing period. Some students went to their classes, while some like you went to a free period, or a study hall. You decided to go to the courtyard, wanting to feel the nice sun on your skin. You rarely talked to everyone, this school was originally an all boys school so there aren’t many girls. You enter the courtyard, nearly getting ran over by 5 taller guys, their fists are bloodied and they’re laughing to each other.

As you look into the courtyard, you see a boy, about your age. He is badly beaten and is sitting in the corner, clutching his ribs and breathing heavily. He isn’t crying but he looks like he’s in a lot of pain. His hair is disheveled and his glasses are on the ground, surprisingly in tact. He has cuts and bruises on his face, but not many. He has blood on his body from likely being kicked. He is also shaking really badly.

Bullying isn’t uncommon in this school. It’s worse than usual this week, since the star student, Baku, isn’t here. Baku usually stopped fighting every day since he is the strongest, but he got suspended so there is nobody to stop the bullies.
