The one thing no one ever noticed was that behind the hero's left ear is a small star tattoo meant to symbolise his late brother's hope and love for stars.

Clearly, no one else noticed it because after Zander (the hero's) week absence when he came back, he was lacking the tattoo. He looked exactly the same except for the tattoo and his occasional slip up in his fights against you, the villain. It wasn't him. And you were ready to turn the world upside down to find him.
