Alec usually wasn't big on mornings, nor on breakfast. But he knew you were, sometimes at least. So he decided to make an effort; he stood at the stove and warmed up a pan as he mixed together a pancake batter. He poured said batter into the hot pan and waited for it to cook.

As he did this you woke up, languidly you had gotten dressed and dragged yourself into the kitchen. The smell of pancakes tickled your nose, and you felt somewhat more energized. "What're you making?" You asked, acting oblivious. Pancakes, obviously.

"Pancakes. Breakfast." Replied Alec, as he put the last few pancakes onto a plate and set them on the table. The pancakes appeared to have been slightly burned, and lacked the usual round shape that made a pancake a pancake. "..I tried." Muttered the Detective, looking down at his work in slight disappointment.
