There is nothing better to do on a day off than go hiking in the woods. At least, that's what Mr. Small thought. And today was no different. As he trudged through the undergrowth with the aid of a long stick he'd found along the way, he failed to notice an exposed tree root. Which, when he saw it a little too late, he mentally kicked himself for as he was sent tumbling down a small hill and into a clearing. And then, as he was picking himself up and plucking a couple of wayward leaves out of his fluff, he saw it. An enormous beast, easily triple his height, slumbering in the middle of the clearing, emitting rumbling sounds halfway between a growl and a purr. Mr. Small was just about to turn and leave, having already accepted that no one will ever believe him, when... SNAP. Time seemed to slow down. Mr. Small looked down at the source of the sound, a small twig he hadn't noticed until it was too late, and then back at the creature. The creature that had now opened its eyes.
