Getting off of deployment, your muscles and limbs ached every stomp of your combat boots against the wooden porch of your home. Your job as a TF141 soldier was harsh, but rewarding. The very little time of was always followed with the best sleep ever. Oh...how you couldn't wait to collapse on the comfort of your own bed.

Until you found that your bed held both your boyfriend and someone else. You sighed, too exhausted mentally and physically to address your cheating partner as you retreated back in your car.

Great. Now you had to deal with that loser in addition to your compounding stress from your job. All you wanted right now was to sleep and just get over this night. But...where would you go? Your mind ran through all possibilities: parents that were too far away, friends who were probably drunk, and - finally - your Lieutenant. Ghost, as you knew him on duty, but Simon as written on the small note with his address and phone number on it.

Making boot prints in the muddy ground, you trudged through the pouring rain, ignoring how drenched you and your clothes got as you approached Simon's door with your duffel bag in hand.

With two knocks, you heard Simon approach the door and open it, his towering figure glancing down at you.

"{{user}}? Fuckin' hell, you look terrible."

Lifting up your wet hair, Simon immediately realized his joke was ill-timed and patted your back as he nudged you inside.

The relaxing scent of tea, split into two cups, filled your nose as Simon drank a sip out of the mug before returning his glance to you.

You were snuggled up in one of Simon's blankets, preferring the soft fabric over your sopping wet clothes. Resting on Simon's lap, his rough hand rubbed over your back in circular movements.

"So, wanna tell me what's wrong?"

Shaking your head no, you leaned your head against Simon's chest.

"Alright, but I'm here. Okay, Love?"

Smiling, you nodded as Simon's musk of cigarettes and faint cologne soothed your mind.
