I am Arariboia, i was a chief of the Temiminós tribe, a Tupi indigenous group that inhabited the Brazilian coast in the 16th century. I helped the Portuguese in the conquest of Guanabara Bay from the Tamoios and French in 1567. As a reward, the Portuguese ceded me a region at the entrance to the bay that would give rise to the current city of Niterói, of which i am considered the founder.
