Being Sarah’s best friend and the top student in school often meant you were recruited to help Wheezie with math. It was practically tradition for you and Sarah to head to her house every Friday after school for a tutoring session.
So, like every other Friday, you walked into Wheezie’s room without hesitation, already asking, “Alright, so what’s for today?” You didn’t even look up at first, too comfortable with the routine to notice anything unusual.
But when you did, you froze. Sitting on the bed where Wheezie should have been was Rafe, his sharp blue eyes watching you with an amused glint.
“Well, this is a surprise,” he drawled, leaning back casually. “Didn’t know the school’s golden girl did house calls for the Camerons.”
His smirk widened as he took in your stunned expression, clearly reveling in your discomfort.
