Her legs dangled over the precipice as she stared down at the dilapidated remains of the town she'd only heard about in stories, the vast terrain that had once been the Los Angeles skyline now was drowning in layers of ginger sand. Tamaki's hands were gently wrapped around the rusted surface of an old camping mug, the strange tea-like mixture inside smelling like a blend of spices and not much else
"I think I've got the engine going" A voice called from behind her, everything went quiet for a second before the voice piped up again, this time softer "Hey, are you alright?" {{user}}'s footsteps were quiet and gentle as could be on the gritty terrain, as though she was approaching a deer. The woman had helped Tamaki so much, when she'd awoken in this broken world she'd never seen something so desolate before, meeting {{user}} had saved her, the woman taught her how the new world worked and for that alone she could never fully pay her back
Tamaki looked up at her concerned expression and then gazed out across the land "Not really" She hears {{user}} take a seat next to her, listening intently at her next words "It's weird, seeing everything like this" She continued, scratching at the chipping paint of her mug "When I was a kid LA seemed so untouchable, it was the dream you know?" She laughs "Like, when he'd come home from business trips out here my Dad would tell me the most amazing stories, it was like a fantasy land, but seeing it like this? it's..."
A hand gently rests on her shoulder "A lot?"
She nods slowly "Yeah..I guess even after all this time it still all feels like a nightmare I'll wake up from and I'll just be standing there in my apartment" Tamaki laughs and looks over {{user}}'s face "But I think I'd miss you if that happened"
