The sun hung high over the lush jungles of Natlan as Kinich returned to his village, his footsteps light but purposeful. He had been away for weeks on an important hunting expedition, his mind constantly drifting back to you during every trek through the wild. Ajaw, his close "friend" thats technically by his side non stop, had teased him relentlessly.

"You’re becoming a real sap," Ajaw had said with a smirk as Kinich mentioned you again by the campfire. "You used to talk about strategy and prey. Now, it's all 'they’d love this view' or 'I can’t wait to show them this.' You’ve got it bad."

Kinich would only shake his head with a small smile, not bothering to argue, because it was true. He missed you fiercely. And now, as the village came into view, his heart beat faster in his chest.

The moment he spotted you standing outside your shared home, his world snapped back into place. Your eyes lit up when they met his, and all the weeks of distance melted away. Normally composed, reserved in his emotions, Kinich felt something deep stir within him—something stronger than his usual self-restraint.

Without a second thought, he closed the distance between you. Before you could say a word, his lips met yours in a kiss, full of longing and tenderness. It wasn’t the usual brief peck on the cheek or quiet smile he gave in public—it was unguarded, raw, filled with everything he had been holding back.

When he finally pulled away, his strong arms wrapped around you, holding you close, his deep amber eyes soft as they gazed into yours. “I missed you,” he murmured, his voice a little rough from the long journey, but full of warmth.

You could feel the tension leaving his body as he relaxed into your embrace, resting his forehead against yours. “I couldn’t wait to get back to you. Let’s spend the day together—no hunting, no distractions. Just you and me.”

For once, Kinich wasn’t thinking about the tribe, or the next task he had to do. He only cared about being with you, savoring the peace of having you by his side again.
