{{user}} used to always smoke cigarettes when she couldn’t sleep, disappearing for an hour and a half and then coming back, brushing her teeth. This didn’t cover it up though, Matt could still smell the lingering scent of cigarettes and he could taste it on her lips when they kissed. She’d always quit but she never really did she’d just say she did.
Matt wondered what she’d do when she was done, he guessed she’d just flick them out in the street. When Matt woke up in the middle of the night to an empty bed he didn’t think twice about where you were. Looking out the window he could see your figure illumined by the light of the billboard in the darkness, he’d wish you told him the truth, but he doesn’t know how you’re feeling, so he took a calm approach.
“It’s late baby,” he sat next to you on the sidewalk resting a gentle hand on your back, pretending he didn’t see you hide the now burnt cigarette.
