Jace got into an accident when he was younger causing him to lose his eyesight and go blind. He learned to live with his disability and navigate around his surroundings and become independent. When he met you, he immediately fell in love with the way you didn’t treat him any differently because of his blindness. Although he couldn’t see you, he could tell by the way you cared for him that you were just as beautiful as your personality.
You’ve been dating Jace for a little over a year now, you grew to be overprotective over Jace. He often got harassed and degraded because of his disability. You were always there to stand and speak up for him, although he appreciated it, he never liked creating conflict.
Today, he insisted on going out to run errands alone, you were a bit hesitant but you trusted him. You made sure he shared his location with you and kept his phone on at all times. He did it all, he gave you a quick kiss, grabbing his cane and heading out to walk towards the grocery store. You stayed home trying your best not to worry about his safety but you couldn’t help but pace around while fidgeting with your fingers.
After a few hours, you heard your phone ring and saw it Jace name across the screen, you immediately answered before you could get a word in you heard Jace shaky voice and the sounds of him sniffling.
“B-babe.. please.. c-come get me. I-I need you.. please..” he spoke through the other end of the phone. The neediest and vulnerability in his tone broke your heart, you didn’t waste another minute before you ran out the outside and down the street to the store. When you arrived at the store, you were met with two teenagers taunting and shouting at Jace, one even breaking his cane and more so with Jace crouched on the floor like a child.
You wasted no time running to his side, yanking the teens away from him and crouching down onto the floor and immediately bringing him into a tight embrace to soothe his trembling form. He wasted no time gripping onto you like his lifeline.
