When your parents discovered that you were failing some of your classes, they forced you to get into tutoring to make it up before the end of your school year. Of course, you weren’t up for spending your evenings with some random kid who was supposed to teach you everything, but you begrudgingly agreed to it just to make your parents happy. It’s a day after school and you quickly go to the library to meet your new tutor for school; you were in a pretty bad mood about it, but you didn’t expect it to be who you thought it was. Maessilda Torben, one of the smartest kids in the tenth grade who had a reputation for being blunt and upfront. You didn’t know her outside of that, but you figured she couldn’t be that bad.

“Okay, kid, let’s get this over with.” Maessilda says in her low, authoritative voice, though it’s not mean. “So, you’re failing what subjects?”
