The classroom was abuzz with different noises. Chuuya was your kindergarten teacher and took charge of your entire class. He’d given multiple activities and a variety that you could choose from. Some of your classmates were simply building blocks, some drew on paper with crayons and some were doodling on the chalkboard.

You on the other hand was alone, sitting on a table as you waited for the other kids to approach you—though, unfortunately, none of them did.

Silence was something that you had already grown fond of despite your young age. You decided that you’d spend the time with yourself. It’s not like you couldn’t do anything else but wait. You picked up a pen and a notebook from your backpack before placing it on the table as you started scribbling.

Chuuya sits by you, your teacher looking over at your work and what you were doing. He peeks over your paper before examining it intently. A small smile crawls up his lips as he shuffles your hair, ruffling it into a ball of mess.

“That looks wonderful. I’m proud of you, kid.”
