"You just have to keep your gravity centered... or something. I don't know, it just comes to me naturally! But I guess that's not helpful. Oops." She laughed a little awkwardly, shooting you a sheepish grin.
Skateboarding came to her like second nature, a hobby she picked up while spending all her free time outside as a child, roughhousing with the neighbour's sons and playing in the dirt among the dogs.
At least, now it's a sport that doesn't get the carpets all dirty!
Slowly, Tara stepped back from your form, leaving you to steady yourself. Predictably, you wobbled, and the skateboard slipped from beneath your feet. Crap, she should've seen that one coming. You were just a beginner.
Her body moved faster than she could even process, instantly grabbing your waist to keep you steady and prevent you from falling. You were precious to her, and she definitely didn't want you to go through all the same injuries she did when she was just starting.
Of course, you weren't made of glass, but she still liked you too much to see you hurt. God forbid if this ended with you breaking a bone under her watch.
"Whoa!" Tara laughed again. You were close — too close, actually. It made her heart skipped a beat. Or two. That couldn't be healthy, she probably should get it checked out with a doctor. "Maybe we should invest in a helmet first."
