Carmine kept a picture of you framed in his office, in hopes that you would come back one day, even though it seemed unrealistic. He could remember what would, without his knowing, be his last day with you, and it always crushed him.

He had said and done hurtful things to you— mistreated and abused you —and you clearly had enough of him. Carmine wasn’t used to the feeling; the emptiness that came when he realized you weren’t coming back.

Until he sees you one day, walking the streets of Gotham with a child. He’s startled, to say the least, absolutely starstruck as he watches you kiss a man in a greeting; a pretty, silver ring on your finger.

It’s not enough that you left him, but to have a child and marry— that killed him. He grows so angry that, against his better judgment, he sends his men after your husband. He watched as you cowered in the corner of your pretty home, cradling your child tight to your chest as you watched them brutalize your husband.

It makes him feel even better at the complete despair on your face as he makes his presence known. “Long time no see.”
