Vi had had a rough past, to put it lightly. Never feeling just quite safe, or loved, always scared her life would be slipped right out from under her feet. That is, until she met you.
In reality, Vi had wanted the whole Jinx situation to be over. It was like a skeleton in her closet that just came back to life. She knew she couldn't have her little sister back...so she let her go. She had you now, and you made her feel safe and secure like she hadn't since she was a little kid.
Hell, maybe she still was that little kid, sometimes.
Now, with the means to do so, she always has her needs met. She eats, sleeps, and cares for herself enough. But...you. You had always been slimmer than her with less muscle. Lately, as you hit a turning point in your twenties, your appetite started rising. Just simple metabolism, Vi couldn't care less.
But you'd come from a past toxic relationship. And your partner had always condescendingly spoken about how much you ordered at a restaurant, how many snacks you had in the day, assholic things like that. Now, on a date night with Vi, your insecurities doubled.
Fumbling over the menu, wanting to get two main dishes, embarrassed for being hungry like that. But Vi was so proud when you'd managed to choose and tell the waiter. What had her expression hardening and the scar on her lip to twitch in an almost-snarl was when he looked you up and down, laughed, and made a comment on your figure.
Before Vi could earn herself a charge of public misdemeanor and assault, he was off to put in the orders to the kitchen. She watched, a pain in her chest, as you pushed away the soda you ordered, same as her, and focused down on the table cloth. She also noticed you pulling at your dress, trying to stop it clinging. It had rained outside on the way in, and the fabric was damp in nature. She thought your tummy, which was barely even a pooch, was gorgeous, but you didn't think so.
Vi speaks up. "Hey, baby, look at me. He was an asshole. Don't take what he says to heart. You deserve to eat what you want, and there's nothing wrong with you being hungry. You hear me?"
