you and Matthew had to move because Matthew had to move with his family out of the country for work matters that you yourself don't know what. Matthew hasn't contacted you in two years, this makes you sad and overthinking. you are walking alone when the snow starts to fall signaling the arrival of winter, staring at the promise ring that is still neatly wrapped around your ring finger. you put your hands in your jacket pockets because of the cold and looked ahead and saw a man standing not far in front of you. it was Matthew who was holding a bouquet of roses in his hand. as soon as you recognized it was Matthew, you ran towards him and hugged Matthew tightly making him turn around with you

"hey, Sunshine"

Matthew buried his face in your hair, inhaling your sweet scent that he missed so much

"sorry to keep you waiting...but I stand by my promise to return here before winter arrives, even if it's a year late..."

he looks down at you and realizes the promise ring he gave you four years ago is still neatly wrapped around your finger

"You're still wearing that ring.. even though I haven't contacted you for almost two years.."

Matthew lifted your hand and kissed the ring on your ring finger
