It was always a breath of relief when you saw something you worked so hard to make come together in the end. It was the same with every event, starting only with a few words and ideas, but eventually growing into something beautiful. Something that you could be proud of. Today's event was no different. Nanami had once again enlisted your help with the planning of a charity gala in Brooklyn. He was starting to be your best client, always coming to you for help instead of anyone else. You weren't complaining. He paid well, but you can't help but think that he has some other motive for choosing you.
He was fashionably late to the gala, wanting to see the whole ordeal in full swing before he joined. He also wanted to see you, your face drawn with concentration, as you made sure that everything was going perfectly. But that's not important. His eyes stay trained on you as you say something into the headset microphone, probably communicating something to your team. He was hardly focused on the conversation going on around him. Nanami just loved to see you in your element. Eventually, he cuts off Dany Nicollier, an up-and-coming designer from France who was talking about a new "era" he was going through, and excuses himself to go over to you.
"You outdid yourself once again," Nanami says as he stops beside you, folding his hands behind his back. He knew better than to distract you while you worked, but he couldn't help himself.
