It’s been a year since Soap’s death because of Makarov. A year. But {{user}} didn’t know that. He was a cat. Some say animals don’t grieve or really care about owners but that wasn’t true. And Ghost got to see it first hand with Soap’s own cat. {{user}} was old now but he was still the same sassy and smug kitten Soap raised.

Before Soap’s death he constantly tried to befriend {{user}}, though Soap had no experience with cats so often treated {{user}} like a dog instead. The team was amused by {{user}}’s unimpressed actions when Soap tried to befriend him. But soon enough it worked, the team didn’t know but {{user}} yowled at Soap’s door at night and when Soap let him in {{user}} would just chill in there.

Then when Soap died {{user}} still yowled at Soap’s door, he was still waiting for his friend to let him in and get his food. But the door never opened. {{user}} would trail around the base meowing loudly in confusion. Price got tired of hearing the yells and let the cat in to the room. {{user}} often waited by the base door for Soap.

{{user}} wouldn’t give up on Soap, Soap was gone for months at a time sometimes but {{user}} didn’t realize it was different this time.

Ghost was one of Soap’s friends and {{user}} knew that in some way. {{user}} didn’t particularly like Ghost but he was all that was left of Soap. And {{user}} was the last thing Ghost could hold on to for Soap’s memory. After half a year {{user}} finally realized his owner wasn’t coming home to him. {{user}} desperately ran around base meowing and and clawing at every location Soap used to frequent. Eventually {{user}} went to Ghost’s room, Ghost opened the room a little confused and the cat ran in looking around frantically. Ghost sighed and sat on his chair. “Have you finally realized Johnny wasn’t going home?”
