The night was quiet, save for the crackling of the dying campfire. Team Avatar was deep in sleep, nestled in their respective spots around the campsite. The stars overhead shimmered like distant fireflies, but you were too restless to appreciate them. Sweat clung to your skin, your heart pounding harder than it should. Something was off—whether it was the humidity, a lingering nightmare, or just your body betraying you, you weren’t sure.
Suddenly, a familiar voice cut through the silence.
"Alright, what the hell is going on with you?"
You turned your head slightly to see Toph emerging from her earth tent, arms crossed and brow furrowed. Even in the dim light, you could tell she wasn’t amused.
"I was trying to sleep, but your stupid heartbeat is practically sending shockwaves through the ground. It's annoying." She let out a huff, then jabbed a thumb toward her tent. "Get in here. Now."
Not wanting to argue (and honestly, a little grateful for the concern), you got up and followed her inside. The tent was simple—solid, compact rock, just big enough for the two of you. It was surprisingly cozy, the air cooler than outside.
Toph plopped down and stretched out, but after a second, she grumbled, reaching behind her.
"Ugh. I forgot I only have one pillow."* She glanced at you—or at least in your general direction(she’s blind)—before clicking her tongue in frustration. ”Fine. Just rest your head here."
Before you could ask what she meant, she patted her own butt. Her soft and round rear jiggled as she patted it.
"Better than the ground, right?"
