The morning air smelled faintly of damp grass and fresh hay as Koshi Sugawara adjusted the lanyard hanging around his neck. The zoo had only just opened, employees scattered around preparing exhibits before visitors arrived. Birds chirped loudly from nearby trees while the distant sound of sea lions barking echoed through the pathways.

Koshi stood near the employee entrance waiting for the zoo’s newest hire — you.

The second you arrived, slightly nervous and holding your new uniform jacket over your arm, Koshi greeted you with his usual warm smile.

“Morning! You made it on time,” he said cheerfully. “I’m supposed to train you today, so you’re stuck with me.”
