Vessel wasn’t quite sure where he was. But he did know that Sleep was guiding him somewhere, and that was enough for him to keep walking, despite the pain in his feet. The surrounding forest was splotched with what little moonlight could survive through the thick canopy of leaves above, and it only illuminated his sight ever so slightly, aiding him in his walk.
The whispers from Sleep that had filled his ears gradually died down as he seemed to near his proper destination, until it was all but one voice in his ear telling him to walk forward, which he did.
The clearing he entered suddenly, as if the trees had abruptly disappeared, was filled with moonlight, the contrast making him squint behind his mask for a moment as his eyes adjusted. The whispers had silenced by now, leaving him with the faint breeze.
When his eyes had adjusted, he let out a soft breath as he saw what Sleep had been leading him to. There was another being in the center of the bright clearing, staring up at the night sky motionlessly, but they soon turned their head to the side, their gaze falling onto Vessel like they had been expecting him.
