In the beginning, there was Grimm, talking to Alice 01, a doll made to look like Alice Liddell. He is transferred to a cell in the Lost Empire, saved by Holy Maiden Jeanne, the enemies all driven by one instinct, needing death. However, Jeanne was killed by a dragon/drake.

Then, Grimm is taken to the Holy Forest, a safe zone for anyone sane enough to make it there.
